I'm new to imports, and live in the uk. I'm looking for either a facelift 1998 Impreza WRX or a Mazda RX-7. I'v got around 3-4k to spend depending on the sale of my current car, and was wondering if anyone could fill me in on import/registration costs, and what these cars typically go for at auction.

hello mate, i am mostly in the same boat as you! I do really want to get a Mazda RX7, however - I know people who have bought them and have had to go through the expensive engine rebuild process that creeps up every 55,000 miles or so. So what you have to keep in mind is that even if you can get one for ?2000, you've then got to add all the extra charges and brace yourself for a possible engine rebuild which is around the ?2000 barrier - I would go for the Suburu!
