I dont know if you were aware but the Japanese National holiday for Obon - a Buddhist festival for the dead - occurs over the next 10days.
After much google'ing, I found out this involves watermelon munching and beer swilling, along with holidaying away from the cities. Not to mention a prayer or two for those lost during the year.
This will mean nearly all auction halls will be closed from Sat 13th August to Mon 22nd August.
We have to respect their tradition and culture...though if we cant bid on vehicles, no-one else can either!

Wow! Has that really been a year!?!?!?
I have just had another email from the same Aussie importer company as last year about the Obon holiday.
It seems the auctions will be on shutdown for a considerable period (13th to 21st August) so if anyone is expecting departures, you may need to add a week or few...
