All vehicles made 1997 and after will require a SVA test and model report in the UK.

To clarify:-

All vehicles under 10 years old will require the SVA test no model report is needed.

Vehicles from 1997 onwards will require the SVA test and model report.

SVA test can be arranged on your behalf on most vehicles and we can get the model reports cheap for you should your vehicle require one.

So, If there is no model report for your vehicle then the youngest you can import is a 1996 vehicle.

Most popular vehicles now have model reports.

I'm planning to buy a 1997 onwards vehicle. Does the auction sheet specify if a model report is included with the car, or is it assumed that there is none? If there is normally none, then I will always need to source one separately, correct? (e.g. through yourselves)

Model reports are made in the UK and can be rented in the UK for your vehicle.

Yes phone VOSA in Swansea to see if one has been made for the year of vehicle you are after. You may need to give them the Japanese name for the vehicle.

Then, if they say it has been made, come to use and we can get it you at a trade price.

Modelreports.com is only once source to get the reports from. The trade can get them much cheaper so do give us a call!

www.modelreportsdirect.co.uk is a good site for modelreports.

If you are looking to get one we can get them cheaper than that!

what sort of prices - roughly - do you charge for the model reports?
and also will you hire them out for vehicles not purchased through you?

I would also be interested on what model reports you have currently or how much it would cost to get one for a Subaru? I know the model and year I could be after but cant get hold of a report. Any ideas?

Price depends on the report, price decreases the older the report is generally as the owners have made their money back on it and are willing to lower prices.

What Subaru are you looking for? (which version and year?)

Thanks for replying so quickly Terence, appreciate it.

Im not exactly sure what model I would be interested in bringing in as this depends on model report availablity. I would like to bring in a 98-00 Subaru WRX STi Wagon if there is a report around you could find. Possibly would be interested in same years 98-00 WRX Type R Sti Versions. Any thoughts?

Just give our office a call.

Telephone

* 0870 7668489 (Office direct)
* 0780 1587079 (Mobile number)

An SVA test that does not require model report costs on average 500 - 550 GBP.

We have an agreement with a SVA center to perform the tests at this base cost.

The cost mentioned is for SVA test only.

You will still need a MOT and registration.

Vehicle will have already been modified for the SVA so MOT will be dead straight forward and cost around 25 GBP.
