Hi Mrs MidNite,

Welcome to the Clan !!, and its good to see your enjoing your new toy, as I can fully appercaite how you feel about driving your FTO. Razz

I have to say that when I got my FTO I also drove it like a "Learner" (back from the port. Like yourself that did not last long Very Happy , and its one of those car's you just have to put your foot down !.

Please dont follow in my foot steps on the speeding ticket front though. It's so easy to get carried away (like everytime you drive the FTO) and for myself personally 6 points to date Embarassed Embarassed unfortunatly both offences on static cameras. I managed to blag the 3 times I got stopped by the law otherwise my FTO would be on the Driveway Crying or Very sad . We have invested in a TOMTOM with static camera positioning alerts (WELL WORTH THE FEW HUNDERED POUNDS!).

Anyway I hope you enjoy your early morning drive !!!, and keep us all updated on your FTO.

Rgds

Ben

Hi Mrs MidNite (you too Mr MidNite!!!)

Great to hear you're finally on the road, and in spite of the dramas enjoying your new plaything (does that make Mr MidNite redundant now? Very Happy ) I've not driven an FTO but going by what you and Romeo say they sound like a heap of fun. You must be feeling that it was all worth it now, eh?

As for Romeo - you bad boy, at your age you should be slowing down !!!! (And yes that was tongue-in-cheek!) Don't think I need to worry too much about speed tickets - it's not that the Estima can't reach excessive speeds, more that the law probably wouldn't believe what the cameras are saying - after all, it's only a people carrier!! Gives thy a finger

Anyway, shall we look for a wine red FTO in the garage pages now, Mrs MidNite?

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your reply, I really do feel like part of the FTO "clan" now that I have received not only one reply, but two!!

I have just been out for another spin with my boys (who were well impressed at the speed). My eldest son who is 21, said that I had to learn to use the gears a little better, but hey ho, its only day 2 Smile . I did have it at 7000 rpm, so I thought I did pretty well (and not a speeding ticket in sight) Razz

Could you please help me with a problem, MidnNte says that the Japanese cars do not have any sound deadening material on them, and I have to say that the car sounds very tinny when you close the boot. Is there anyway to remedy this??

It is nice to speak to somebody who has the same car, so no doubt I will be in touch quite often if thats ok. Wink

Hi Glamma,

In answer to your first question, no MidNite is not redundant Laughing and yes the wait was definately worth it. I was so excited last night I did not get to sleep until about 3am, and had to get up for work this morning Crying or Very sad
I will ask MidNite to post a picture of the car for you all to see, as I haven't a clue what to do!! Women and technology generally do not go well together, well certainly in my case anyway !! Rolling Eyes

Hey Caren !!,

LOL Laughing Don't kids always think they invented the "Wheel" !!. My niece told me that "perhaps Uncle Ben needs a driving lesson or two", mind you she is not quite 21 but bordering on 5!. You can imagine how Embarassed red I went !.

Your right about the lack of sound (especially on the boot - it sounds like a tin can). I have tried noise reduction pads inside the boot lid and over the brackets (as they squeek even after WD40) but with no avail. Crying or Very sad

I can't suggest anything but I am sure someone on here will know something that I dont!.

Yeah if I can help at any time then just ask away,

Regards

Ben

I can just hear him breathing a sigh of relief! Wink And as for women and technology - I'd better pass on commenting on that one!!!
Would be good to see it in the garage pages though - you could probably claim to be the ladies' first representative too! Hope you've been winding hubby up about his Skyline, how long 'til it arrives now? [/quote]

Hi Ben/Glamma,
Ben, thanks for your offer of help. Like you say, if you dont know, then maybe somebody else will. If I hear anything, I will let you know.
Glamma, the arrival date for MidNite's Skyline is next Friday, a week early. Yuppee you may be thinking, but not in our case. We are currently renovating the house, which is completely upside down. We have a garage full of goodness knows what, and to add to the headache, we have five cars parked outside our house at the moment (and we only live in a small cul-de-sac!! Crying or Very sad I dont think our neighbours are very impressed, but luckily we get along with them all.
Have to go now, as we have some serious sorting out to arrange!!
Thanks again

Caren
