Hi,
As regards to my quest for a skyline,I have changed my mind after seeing some beautiful cars on auction, namely a Silvia S14 drift monster!
Now if I have my facts straight, grade A means accident damaged and repaired? The car I'm particularly looking at is a 1997 facelift model grade A 1 with a shedload of mods. The accident damage i'm not too bothered about as it looks like it was just a fender replacement, and the rest of the bodywork is minor scratches and wave repairs, also the mileage is low with immaculate interior.
However, is it going to be pretty much a pointless exercise trying to bring over a grade1 due to the ESVA tests? as it will end up costing a ridiculous amount of money and effort to return to standard trim then putting all the mods back on? or am i just being overly pessimistic
Any advice would be very much welcomed, thank you

A good choice in vehicles, you clearly know your stuff. These vehicles have perfect weight distribution for drifiting. The vehicle of choice for many drifters.
A1 means highly modified and accident repaired usually, we will check with you before you bid or purchase to ensure you understand the auction report.
In many cases accident repaired could just mean 1 panel replacement - nothing major at all.
Small mods you can get away with - no large impact on engine.
But with the big drift cars, the internals of the engine will have been modified to a very high extent which in turn would have a large direct impact on engine emissions (proving how pointless the SVA is, car in the UK can be modified and never have to worry about the emissions). Anyway, for this reason it is not recommended.
Have you taken a look at the 1995/6 vehicles? No SVA needed for these. Just bring them over and MOT.
I have seen some beasts on there for very little money. Keep an eye out for tues and weds auctions.
Had a quick look in advanpartners for you

Hi Tez,
Thanks for your reply, I had seen the second one you've listed, on advanpartners (kinda thing i was looking for, not too ostentatious and a bit understated (keeps the attention of certain blue lighted vehicles at bay.Can get irritating being stopped every few miles,it's bad enough just driving a standard Merc!) but powerful.I couldn't see any price on it tho.
If possible, could you give a rough pricing area where I should place a bid for a similar car in auction?
Had a look at your Supra in the garage aswell......Verrrrry nice car and nice selection of mods so far too
Thanks again
P.S:I don't know THAT much about cars, I just know what I like,Silvia's have a nice shape to them and nicely balanced ,as you say, and after drifting the Merc in the snow (purely by accident of course! it's almost impossible not to after all!) for the past few days, I think i could have Lots of fun in the near future |
