Hello, I think these Jap imports look fantastic in terms of value for money & the superb condition they are in when they arrive here in the UK. A couple of days ago i spotted a guy in a car park looking over his imported Toyota Soarer so i went over to have a look & chat about his purchase. It looked immaculate, someone in Japan had put an aftermarket exhaust on it which i wouldnt have bothered with & the legally UK required fog lamp was poorly fitted but the condition inside & out + engine bay were all super clean! What a beast! He fired it up & we stood there looking & listening to the engine.....smooth as silk! It must be the weather out there in Japan as the car looked like it was a couple of years old only. I myself am looking for an automatic jap car, i am looking at MR2's, Toyota Soarer, Nissan 200sx (Silvia in Japan) possibly a Skyline but i keep getting sidetracked by other interesting looking models. Im not sure whether i would go for a real powerhouse like something with multiple turbos in case once here i had to spend money on it over here sorting any mechanical problems out. Unfortunatley the wife can only drive an automatic so im thinking that Autos are not generally thrashed & normally bought by a different kinda person so the engine/transmission should be a peach. It does bother me a bit that i will have a bit of a wait before i can play with my new toy but it looks like the wait will be justified.
BIDDING.
Where do i start? Some have zero bids so should i be cheeky & bid a couple of hundred thousand Yen & see what happens bearing in mind that each bid is going to cost me a tenner? anybody tried this approach? Is there a formula that anyone could recomend? Anyway i can see what the cars actally fetched at the close of bidding so i can get an idea of what to bid?
I think Jap engineering & the quality of the raw materials & their technology puts them up there & probably beyond the likes of BMW Mercedes & other favoured western top Marques, just look at Honda's track record & how they conquered the British motorcyle industry in the early 70s. Their steel industry is world class & what are engines made of eh. Superb tolerances in production. A mate of mine has a very untidy but mechnically well looked after MR2 with 180000 miles on the clock & that engine & box are as sweet as the day we picked it up second hand 10 years ago & i recently had 148mph on the clock, i took the left hand bend on the anti-clockwise section of the M25 where it splits into the M20-M25 without so much as a murmour, then the right-hander comes up pretty quick too, 3am on a clear summers morning no other vehicles about, so im not completley mad.
Anyone with any input then please post a reply back to the forum, at the mo im looking at the site every evening after work checking the stock & am learning the curve...This looks like fun. |

We will have a system to tell you guide prices for the vehicles but it is not ready yet.
However, take a look at the advanpartner vehicles. They act as good guide prices.
If in doubt, you can give us a call or drop us an email and we will talk you though it =)
Look forward to hearing from you. Personally i'm a big fan of the Evo's as fun and practical vehicles.
RX-7's are amazing machines too... |
