Hi Hammer

That's good to hear - would be a shame to have to wait that long to go out and play!! Did he say what is involved in this back door method? I'm intrigued, 'cos it costs a lot of people a good few quid and a fair bit of hassle at times to get some of these cars on the road and if there's a reliable legal alternative then perhaps it should be exploited a bit more. Anyway, keep us posted.

Cheers Glenn

Sorry 'bout that MidNite, I did get it but been having a few probs with the pc lately - all sorted now though. Bloody things never work properly do they?!!!!

I'm looking to get a towbar fitted to the Esty soon - I hope we can get one of those detachable ones, and maybe get a hinged flap cut into the rear skirt to facilitate it. I don't want to spoil the look of the rear end by having a permanent one fitted, or having an obvious hole in the skirt, so I think this is the best way to do it. But if you can think of any other way let me know! I need to have one somehow as we go away regularly with a trailer or small boat in tow.

Any news on a Skyline yet?

No Probs, Glanma, wondered if you had gone on holiday or something. I am still looking with some help from msdunn, and hopefully will find something suitable soon.
Re your towbar, I think if you could get a flap made with some sort of locking mechanism, that would probably be the best option as when the towbar is removed then its back to its glorious best. :)

On holiday? I wish!!! - seeing all that snow at the winter Olympics is making me long for a bit of the same though, a nice drive down to the French Alps wouldn't go amiss and it would be a nice ride in the Estima! Could be interesting on the steep bits though 'cos she spins the wheels pretty easy as it is!!!! Shocked

Hi Guys, I'm back(I think)

stracyznski, Sorry for the delay in replying but had a bit of the up's & down's this last month or so having to dust off the old Black threads and tie but thats life, any how about the SVA MAN? well I am just awaiting my reg doc's back from him any day now, I spoke to him today the doc's went off to the DVLA tuesday so as soon as he gets them back he will post them on to me, so I should have the paper work back by Monday at the latest, Registered-taxed-MOT'd and all I have to do is go to the shop and get the reg plates, if the SVA man had not been their then I would have to get it SVA'd ( cars not 10yrs old till Nov)which ment taking ALL the after market gear off ,finding the gear to replace it and then getting it tested at the SVA centre which would have cost a mint, as it is it will be on the road next week so all in all for ?200 I'm chuffed to bits, by the way the car would have been on the road months ago but for the fact that I work away and the car failed its first MOT( just a tracking rod knacked) and I had to get the part, but was away, plus a few problems at home with deaths in the family so I got the car Dec and if I had my sh*t together the car would have been on the road by the end of Jan, not sure how long before its 10th birthday he car do it, or weather he can do it at 9/8/7 year old but once I have the paper work for mine I will be ringing him to thank him and I will ask him what the cut off point is where he cannot get it done just with the paper work,

Sorry to hear about the death in the family. It's never an easy time.

Good news about the SVA test. What documentation did you have to submit to him. I'm trying to get a Primera G-V into the country but I'm being held up by the lack of a model report for it which at the moment looks like I can't even submit the car for the SVA test. Any loophope would be a great help to me....

Hi masong, no I haven't register with the owners club yet as I dont have the motor yet , but I have been thinking of doing that. I've heard that there are some benefits to being a member, is that true?

Yeah I've seen that one too (same shape as my last car) - I like the flared arches but not so keen on the wheels! But they can look real nice and the Japs have so much available for them, shame not much of it reaches our shores. BTW, if you like that I'll post a couple of pics soon of a late shape Previa (like my current Estima) I know of that is having major mods done right now. It already has a Blitz supercharger, and is being fitted with a bodykit, airbag suspension and 18" wheels. Should look/go pretty good if his previous project is anything to go by!
The 'Boro are doing ok I think - I hope they make at least one final for you! My lot are in the play-offs but I don't expect them to make it to the Premiership twice in succession - but I had better get my season ticket sorted out soon just in case they do and the price doubles!
Hope you enjoy your run out in the Legnum, take your camera with you for some action shots, eh?!!! And once your on the road, how about getting a thread going on this loophole, as there may be a few people who could benefit from it?

Glanma,

As soon as I get the thing on the road then i will check with the SVA man and see what he says about missing out the SVA test and the time span you can get away with, maybe the paper work will give me a clue?
