Once the car from Auction arrives from Japan there is a 10% Tax to pay on the price of the car + freight and then there is 17.5%VAT to pay on the car price + freight + 10% Tax. This is not included in the FOB price. Is this correct?

Hi Ken
The FOB price 110 000 Yen is only for putting the car on the ship and also to get all the paperwork in order. It is my understanding that this cost is not included in either the Duty or the Tax amounts, good job really. Sometimes you will have to include the marine insurance too in the VAT bill.
