I am looking to import a car for the first time, and have a couple of queries:
1) After making some initial insurance enquiries I have encountered some difficulties - some insurers won't insure an import, others will but for a price. Could you advise whether there are any specialist insurers, and if I should expect a premium increase when compared to a UK equivilent vehicle?

2) In assessing the savings on Japanese imports it is often difficult to compare like for like, eg. model numbers and brand names are different. Can you recommend any sources of information that would enable easy reconciliation. Thanks in advance.

Tescos and Adrian Flux are good ones to try for insurence quotes.

Direct Line has had good reports too.

There is a very small increase in premium for imports.

Regarding vehicle names please do contact us direct and we will advise should there be any confusion.
