|
|
| My car is due to be delivered to Newcastle on 19th Aug but Im flying out to Gran Canaria on the 18th. Ive been told if you dont collect the car from the port on time you will have to pay a demurrage charge. Does anyone know how much this costs per day? Anyone else had this problem? Also when you collect your car does it have to be you in person or can you arrange for someone else to collect it on your behalf? |

Yeah sounds about right.
My car was shipped in using YA Logistics in Southampton. I had 8 days after it landed to collect it otherwise i would have been charged storage fees per day. Their fee was £5 per day after the inital 8 days.
I can't remember them wanting any id when i went to collect so im sure you could send a friend. Just make sure that everything is in order:
- customs clearance
- they have the bill of landing
- any outstanding fees eg. their handling fee has been paid. |
